Ibuprofen
Indication
Relief of fever associated w/ cold & flu, pain eg, teething, toothache, earache, sore throat, headache, minor aches & sprains, inflammation of muscles & joints.
Instruction
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals. Childn 6 mth-12 yr Fever 0.25-0.5 mL/kg 4-6 hrly. Max: 40 mg/kg daily. Pain 2 mL/kg daily. Max dose for patient <30 kg: 20-25 mL daily.
Drug interaction
Oral anticoagulants, lithium, methotrexate, cardiac glycosides, ACE inhibitors, β-blockers, diuretics, quinolones, phenytoin, sulfonylurea antidiabetics, corticosteroids.
