Per Maalox Plus tab Mg hydroxide 200 mg, Al hydroxide 200 mg, simethicone 26.25 mg.
Indication
As an antacid for symptomatic relief of hyperacidity associated with the diagnosis of peptic ulcer,
gastritis, peptic esophagitis, gastric hyperacidity, heartburn,or hiatal hernia.as an atiflatulent to alleviate the symptoms of gas,including postoperative gas pain.
Instruction
2-4 tablets,well chewed,four times a day,taken twenty minutes to one hour after meals and at bedtime,or as directed by a physician.
Drug interaction
Interferes with the absorption of ciprofloxacin, chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, chlorpromazine, cefdinir, cefpodoxime, ketoconazole, levothyroxine, rifampicin, rosuvastatin, tetracyclines, vitamins. May reduce the effect of polystyrene sulphonate. Decreased serum concentration of velpatasvir. Increased absorption with citrate-containing preparations. May decrease absorption of Fe salts.
Magnesium hydroxide: Increases the excretion of salicylates.
