Amlodipine Besilate
Indication
HTN, chronic stable angina, & confirmed or suspected vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina) as monotherapy or in combination w/ other antihypertensive or other antianginal drugs.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food.
Drug interaction
May produce additive hypotension w/ anesthetics, hydrocarbon inhalations. Reduced antihypertensive effects w/ NSAIDs & sympathomimetics. Excessive hypotension may be produced w/ nifedipine. Increase BP w/ estrogens. May potentiate antihypertensive effects w/ hypotension-producing drugs. Potential neurotoxicity w/ lithium. May change unbound serum conc of highly protein bound drugs.
