Distilled in 1998, this Speyside Scotch has a soft feel and an enormous butterscotchy flavor and aroma, lightened by dark chocolate, clove and cinnamon fireworks. Pair with chocolate or other dessert fare.'' -
~TASTING NOTE~
NOSE
Very fruity nose - apricots. Some varnish. Honey comb. More sweet notes come with time in the glass.
Water - looses the complexity goes into stranger aromas. Reminds me now of nice fruit distillate.
PALATE
Very oily and thick texture. Great body.
Walnuts (reminds me of sherry casks); sweetness but also bitter taste (grapefruit skin). Some pepper towards the back of the tongue. Roasted apples.
Water: quite some loss on the body; sour notes and the bitterness are amplified but the sweetness is also there.
FINISH
Medium - drying on bitter walnuts (fresh walnuts skins) and some vanilla sweetness.
