Ricasoli is considered by many to be the most representative winery of Chianti Classico, located in the town of Gaiole in Chianti. The history of the Ricasoli family has been linked to wine since 1141: written records dating back to that date attest that Castello di Brolio was already family property. It was thanks to Baron Bettino Ricasoli, an illustrious politician and brilliant wine entrepreneur, that the formula for Chianti, today's Chianti Classico wine, was born in 1872.
