Each vial of Menopur contains 75 International Units (IU) of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and 75 IU of luteinizing hormone (LH). It also includes lactose monohydrate and sodium phosphate buffer in a sterile, lyophilized form.
Indications:
Menopur is indicated for:
• Female infertility: Used to stimulate follicle development in women who cannot ovulate due to conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
• Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART): Used in conjunction with procedures like in vitro fertilization (IVF) to induce multiple follicular development.
• Male infertility: Can be used to stimulate spermatogenesis in men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
o Wash your hands.
o Prepare the Menopur vial and solvent.
o Use an alcohol pad to clean the tops of the vials.
o Use a Q•Cap adapter to mix the solvent with the Menopur powder.
2. Injection:
o Choose an injection site on your abdomen.
o Clean the area with an alcohol swab.
o Pinch up the skin and insert the needle straight into the skin.
o Push the plunger all the way down and wait 5 seconds before removing the needle.
o Rotate injection sites from day to day.
