BYD Launches First Electric MPV In Indonesia, Priced Under $25,000
BYD, China's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has launched the M6, Indonesia's first electric multipurpose vehicle (MPV). Unveiled at the 31st Indonesia International Motor Show, the M6 aims to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region, with prices starting at $23,400.

BYD, the premier electric vehicle manufacturer in China, is making significant progress in another critical EV market by introducing its M6, the first electric multipurpose vehicle (MPV) in Indonesia. The BYD M6 was unveiled on July 22, coinciding with the anticipated continued growth of electric vehicle sales in the region.
BYD unveiled the M6 at the 31st Indonesia International Motor Show. The M6 is the region's inaugural electric multipurpose vehicle (MPV) and is anticipated to satisfy Indonesia's expanding electric vehicle market.
The M6 is offered in three specification levels: Standard 7-seater, Superior 7-seater, and Superior Captain 6-seater.
The initial price is 379,000,000 RP, equivalent to approximately $23,400. The Superior model is priced at 419,000,000 RP ($25,900), while the Superior Captain variant is the most expensive, starting at 429,000,000 RP ($26,500).
According to Electrek, the electric M6 is available with BYD Blade batteries of 55.4 kWh or 71.8 kWh, which provide a NEDC range of up to 261 miles (420 km) or 329 miles (530 km), respectively. With 115 kW rapid charging, the BYD M6 can recharge from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes.
The Song Max serves as the foundation for BYD's M6. A comparable design is visible. Nevertheless, the M6 incorporates contemporary electric vehicle features, such as a closed grille, slender LED headlights, and a prominent BYD logo at the front.
