Elastomeric Waterproofing Coating

Elastomeric Waterproofing Coating

Elastomeric Waterproofing Coating

In elastomeric waterproofing, a special rubbery liquid is used. After applying a coat or two, it cures to form a rubber-like elastomeric waterproof membrane, capable of extending and returning to its original shape without damage.

Liquid waterproofing membrane method offers more flexibility compare to cementitious method. The materials’ durability highly depends on the polymer type that the manufacturer used but at best, it increases coat’s elongation property to as high as 280%.

The liquid can be rolled, troweled or sprayed on. Such coating systems are usually reinforced with secondary materials like glass-reinforced plastic to provide additional tensile strength. This method is most suitable for all types of roofs, including flat, domed, and pitched.
