Cooling towers may be the most efficient way of removing heat from a facility but like all mechanical equipment, they create noise. They are efficient machines but notoriously loud and can be disruptive to neighbors especially when it is installed in between high-rise buildings.

ISTIQ Noise Control was called to give a solution on how to mitigate the annoying noise coming from the Cooling Tower.

A partial Acoustic Enclosure was proposed. Photos above are steel structures were erected to support the modular acoustic panels which enclosed the discharge air of the Cooling Tower. The discharge air are installed with 45 deg bend round duct.

Walls and Roof panels are been installed.

Air Intake Silencers with 90 degrees elbow are installed.

The photos above show before and after acoustic treatment at the Fan Discharge Air of the Cooling Tower. After the completion of the works, the noise level that comes from this side of cooling tower is noticeably disappeared.
