2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Facelift Debuts at KLIMS 2024 – Book Now from RM140k.

It looks like the XV80 Camry won’t be the only new Toyota model debuting at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 this week. The updated Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid will also be on display alongside the sedan.

In a recent ‘Beyond Zero’ post, Toyota shared a teaser showing the silhouette of the facelifted Corolla Cross next to the new Camry. The caption reads, “New faces on the horizon. Be among the first to witness and go beyond with the future of Hybrid Electric technology at KLIMS 2024.”

The Corolla Cross facelift’s appearance at KLIMS isn’t a surprise since UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) started accepting bookings for the refreshed SUV last month. This event could also mark its official launch. Two variants are open for booking: the Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric and the Corolla Cross HEV GR Sport. Since the current GR Sport version isn’t a hybrid, this adds a new option for the local market.

The updated Corolla Cross, already available in Thailand, features a refreshed front design with redesigned full-LED headlights and a slimmer upper grille. The lower grille now has honeycomb perforations, seamlessly integrated with bold faux intakes on the sides.

Inside, the outdated foot-operated parking brake has been replaced with an electronic parking brake, which includes an auto brake hold feature. The SUV also gets an upgraded 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system (up from 9.0 inches) that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

UMW Toyota Motor has also highlighted additional features like a 3D panoramic view monitor (PVM) and an improved vehicle telematics system with remote engine start. The Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric will be offered in five colours: Celestite Grey Metallic, Red Mica Metallic, Silver Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and a new shade, Dark Turquoise.

The GR Sport version of the Corolla Cross comes in three striking two-tone options: Platinum White Pearl, Red Mica Metallic, and Dark Turquoise, all paired with a black roof. It shares the new features of the standard model but adds sportier elements like stiffer suspension and performance bracing for improved cornering. Inside, the GR Sport features black leather seats with embossed GR logos and red stitching for a premium and sporty feel.

Both the standard and GR Sport variants come with an eight-year, unlimited-mileage warranty covering the hybrid battery, inverter, and power management control ECU. Customers can also opt to extend this coverage by an additional two years. This warranty is in addition to UMWT’s standard five-year unlimited mileage warranty.

While UMW Toyota Motor hasn’t detailed the powertrain, it is likely to carry over the 1.8-litre Dual VVT-i engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 122 PS and driving the front wheels, similar to the Thai-market version.
KLIMS 2024 will take place at MITEC from December 5-11, offering attendees a chance to see the facelifted Corolla Cross up close. Be sure to check out the local brochure and the live gallery of the Thai-market model for more details.
