What is Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) ?

Melamine Faced Chipboard, also known as MFC, create by high pressure heat pressing melamine impregnated paper onto particleboard. The top and bottom coloured layer is made by applying a sheet of coloured paper with resin. Melamine layer helps to waterproof, resist scratches, and increase the aesthetics of the surface. This sheet is cured under heat and pressure, and glued and pressed onto the chipboard core under low pressure. MFC has a variety of colors, lightweight, easy to construct. The coloured paper is what determines the look of your cabinet, and also protects the wood chips from water.  It is easy to clean and maintain. The normal glue used in particle board and fibreboard are called Urea-Formaldehyde (UF). MFC is suitable for home and office furniture in dry areas such as wardrobes, cabinet, shelves, desks.
