Malacca — Dato' Wong Chong Lin, Chairman of Kafu Group, stated that durian is not just a fruit but also a symbol of culture and friendship. It embodies the deep cooperation between Malaysia and China in the agricultural and food sectors, enhances friendly relations, and promotes the unique charm of Malaysian durian products in the global market.

Wong Chong Lin pointed out that Malaysian durians are renowned worldwide for their unique flavor and excellent quality, especially the Musang King variety, which is beloved by durian enthusiasts globally. Since its establishment in 2019, Kafu Group has been committed to developing approximately 1,500 acres of organic farms and organic durian eco-parks, following the spirit of Zheng He's voyages.

While hosting the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) Director Zhao Zenglian and his delegation at the Kafu Group's durian eco-park, Wong Chong Lin emphasized that the group has its own product processing plant, adheres to strict production processes to ensure product quality, and has received multiple international certifications. He stated, "Our goal is to develop a 5,000-acre organic durian eco-park to provide more people with the highest quality durians and related products."

Wong Chong Lin also mentioned that Kafu Group collaborates with orchard owners to transform traditional models into a shared platform model for the durian group. He hopes that this visit will help promote Malaysian durians to China and the global market, and pave the way for friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and China.

Tang Cheng Group founder Tang Tiansheng added that the price of Musang King durians has risen from 5 ringgit per kilogram in 1996 to 55 to 60 ringgit per kilogram today, with production increasing annually. He hopes that China will approve the export of fresh durians, which is also the expectation of many Malaysian farmers.
