INFINITY8 Unveils Flagship Coworking Space in George Town's Iconic Landmark

George Town – INFINITY8, one of Malaysia’s largest and award-winning flexible workspace providers, has proudly announced the grand opening of INFINITY8 Reserve George Town. This marks a major milestone as the first flagship space in Malaysia’s northern region and the 11th nationwide.

The grand opening was honoured by Penang Chief Minister, Y.A.B. Mr. Chow Kon Yeow, and INFINITY8’s CEO and co-founder, Mr. Lee Sheah Liang. Highlights of the inauguration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a photo session, and a networking reception with light refreshments, giving guests an exclusive tour of the new facility.

INFINITY8 Reserve George Town, situated at No. 2, Beach Street in the heart of George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a blend of history and modernity; once home to Standard Chartered Bank, this nearly 25,000-square-foot heritage building, featuring intricate Palladian motifs adorning its walls, columns, and façade, was once seen as a symbol of economic prosperity. It now combines historic charm with modern workspaces, offering private offices, hot desks, and conference rooms, all designed for today’s professionals.

The Reserve series offers the highest level of comfort and best-in-class amenities, on top of 24-hour access, administrative support, and parcel collection services. Unique features of this location include a quiet breakout zone, private phone booths, and a snooze lounge, all designed to enhance productivity and well-being while preserving the building’s heritage. Aligned with the Penang2030 vision for sustainable business practices, INFINITY8 provides flexible membership plans and customisable office solutions to meet diverse needs.

The integrated IT infrastructure facilitates seamless bookings from day passes to meeting rooms, supported by an intuitive in-house mobile app. “It has always been our goal to create designated areas meant for collaborative work and a sense of community.” said Lee Sheah Liang, CEO and co-founder of INFINITY8. “This new location allows us to provide affordable workspaces, ideal for startups, local corporations and even foreign businesses to grow without the heavy costs associated with traditional office spaces.”

Y.A.B Chow Kon Yeow, Penang Chief Minister, stated “The opening of INFINITY8’s new regional office in Penang will be a positive added value for the state’s economic landscape. This coworking space acts as an affordable platform for businesses, allowing entrepreneurs to invest more in expanding workforce opportunities for the youth, stimulating economic growth. For foreign enterprises, INFINITY8 offers a strategic entry point, as they are equipped with an all-round, comprehensive business solution service that minimises investment risks and logistical barriers, therefore easing market entry. This initiative is set to attract foreign direct investments (FDIs) into Penang, further bolstering the region’s economic development. I am optimistic that INFINITY8 will continue to reap many benefits from its branch in Penang, the Silicon Valley of the East.”

Looking ahead, INFINITY8 plans to expand into key cities across Malaysia by 2025, furthering its mission to offer flexible workspaces and enterprise solutions. By the end of this year, INFINITY8 will operate 13 coworking spaces nationwide, supporting local businesses and facilitating international market entry.
