Northport Pioneers Use of Proton e.Mas 7 EVs for Patrol Operations in Malaysia

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd has become the first company in the country to incorporate the Proton e.Mas 7 electric SUV into its auxiliary police patrol fleet, marking a major step forward in sustainable fleet management.

This milestone was announced by Pro-Net (Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd), which supplied three units of the e.Mas 7 to support Northport’s security operations. The initiative highlights a shared vision between the two organisations to drive greener mobility solutions while enhancing operational efficiency.

Pro-Net CEO Zhang Qiang stated that the e.Mas 7 was engineered for everyday practicality. “Integrating the e.Mas 7 into Northport’s fleet shows that electric vehicles are already a viable, real-world solution—not just a concept for the future. Our collaboration underlines a firm commitment to making sustainable transport a reality.”

The addition of EVs to Northport’s fleet aligns with its environmental goals and sustainability roadmap. The e.Mas 7 offers a quiet, refined driving experience and brings multiple benefits such as energy efficiency, lower fuel costs, and reduced carbon emissions. Its fast-charging capabilities ensure the vehicles remain readily available for duty, while the simplified drivetrain leads to lower maintenance requirements.

Northport CEO Fakhrul Azhar Tajudin said, “Adopting the Proton e.Mas 7 supports our Green Port initiative and strengthens our ESG agenda. As a proudly Malaysian port, we are also proud to support homegrown innovation and the local automotive industry by choosing Proton.”

This strategic deployment sets a new standard for corporate sustainability in Malaysia and signals growing momentum toward cleaner, smarter, and locally driven transport solutions across the nation.
