To equip students with an interdisciplinary mindset and foster comprehensive development, LUCA International School employs thematic or phenomenal teaching from Year 1 onwards. This approach integrates all subjects, establishing class mission statements and project work to ensure students gain and apply the knowledge and skills across disciplines.
From Year 1 to Year 3, students enter the foundation stage, where they build their knowledge and skills. To guarantee thorough development in skills, knowledge, and understanding, teachers employ a variety of engaging and stimulating activities. These activities help students grasp the course content fully and master their subjects through practical application.
During this stage, students acquire basic communication skills and literacy in English, Chinese, and Malay. They also develop observational skills and an experimental spirit in Mathematics and Science. Additionally, students practice "self-acceptance," "responsibility sharing," and other core competencies through group work tasks, enhancing their overall growth and readiness for future learning.
