Road Closures in KL for Chinese president Xi Jinping's Visit


A total of 15 roads will be closed from 12:30 PM today to facilitate the movement of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is currently on a state visit to Malaysia. The affected roads include Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Damansara, and Jalan Istana.

Other impacted routes are several major highways: the KL-Seremban Highway, New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Sungai Besi–Ulu Kelang Expressway (SUKE), Setiawangsa–Pantai Expressway (SPE), Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), and the Maju Expressway (MEX).

Closures will also affect roads around Putrajaya, including Lingkaran Putrajaya, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.

According to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), each road will be fully closed for about 30 to 45 minutes to allow the smooth passage of the visiting delegation.

The public is advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow police instructions during the closures.

President Xi Jinping safely landed at KL International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang at 6:30 PM to begin his three-day official visit to Malaysia. He arrived on an Air China Boeing 747 and was welcomed at the Bunga Raya Complex, KLIA by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Also present to receive the Chinese delegation were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
