2025 Toyota Camry 2.5V Launched: Priced from RM221,800.

Following its debut at the KL International Motorshow (KLIMS) 2024, UMW Toyota Motor has officially revealed the pricing for the entry-level (XV80) 2024 Toyota Camry 2.5V variant. This variant is offered alongside the previously launched Camry 2.5 HEV, with prices set at RM 221,800 for the 2.5V and RM 248,800 for the 2.5 HEV. Both prices are on-the-road (OTR) for Peninsular Malaysia, excluding insurance.

The pricing for the new XV80 Camry 2.5V represents a modest increase compared to the outgoing XV70 model, which was last listed at RM 219,888 after adjustments in January 2023. It’s worth noting that both variants are fully imported from Thailand.

The Camry 2.5V still uses the same A25A-FKS 2.5-litre Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine as the XV70 Camry. However, it now produces 204 PS and 246 Nm, which is slightly less than the previous model’s 209 PS and 253 Nm. This change is likely due to CO2 emission rules affecting taxes in Thailand, where the 2025 Camry is made.

The engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels. The 2.5 HEV model uses Toyota's latest Hybrid System 5 (THS 5). It combines a 2.5L engine that makes 188 PS and 221 Nm of torque with an electric motor that adds 136 PS and 208 Nm. Together, they produce 230 PS. This setup uses an E-CVT automatic transmission and a new 1.006 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is more efficient than the old nickel-metal hydride one.

The Camry has a fresh new design, inspired by the Toyota Crown and Prius. It features a Hammerhead-style front, a redesigned bumper, and a new grille. Other updates include 18-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic glass roof.

The cabin includes ventilated seats for the driver and front passenger, a new steering wheel design, and a 12.3-inch multimedia display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster makes it easy to view key vehicle information, and there’s also a head-up display (HUD).

The Camry 2.5 HEV comes standard with a two-part panoramic sunroof. The large front glass panel can slide open to let in fresh air, while a mesh deflector automatically pops up to reduce wind noise and turbulence.

The driver's seat in the Camry 2.5 HEV is adjustable in 8 ways and includes 2-way lumbar support for added comfort. Rear passengers enjoy extra comfort with power reclining seats that can adjust to over 8 degrees. The car also features a 9-speaker JBL premium audio system for an enhanced listening experience. Beyond the different powertrains, the two variants share many similarities, with a few key differences. The 2.5V comes with a larger 60-litre fuel tank, while the 2.5 HEV has a 50-litre tank. Additionally, the 2.5V has fixed rear seats, whereas the 2.5 HEV offers power reclining seats for the rear passengers.

Both variants of the Toyota Camry are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0, which includes the following safety features:
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Lane Tracing Assist
  • Road Sign Assist
  • Automatic High Beams
  • Proactive Driving Assist with braking and steering support

Customers can choose from six colour options for both variants, including new shades like Cement Grey, Dark Blue Mica, Precious Metal, and Emotional Red, along with the previously available Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black.

For aftersales support, both variants come with a standard 5-year unlimited mileage warranty. The hybrid variant also offers an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery, inverter, and power management ECU. Additionally, UMW Toyota Motor provides an optional 2-year Extended Hybrid Warranty (covering the 9th and 10th years) for RM 3,500.
