Meet Wesley, a passionate IT student at SBIT, who has found his journey to success through the school's hands-on, practical approach to learning. In this interview, Wesley shares his experience with SBIT's unique teaching methods, the skills he’s gained, and his plans for the future. From enjoying engaging courses like cybersecurity to preparing for job interviews, Wesley reveals how SBIT has helped shape his career path and why he would highly recommend it to others looking to pursue a career in IT.

Q: Why did you choose to study at SBIT?
A: I decided to study at SBIT because I heard they offer excellent computing and IT courses. I was drawn to the school as I wanted to pursue a career in IT or a related field, and this course seemed like the perfect fit for my education and future goals.

Q: How has SBIT's teaching method (70% practical + 30% theoretical) helped you?
A: It helped me a lot because the hands-on approach allowed me to learn faster. I learn better by doing things myself instead of just studying theory. So, having mostly practical work was much more useful for me.

Q: What’s your favorite subject at SBIT and why?
A: I really enjoyed the cybersecurity course because the teacher, Mr. Harvent, was great at teaching and explaining everything in detail. It was also fun to use a website to explore different ways of improving cybersecurity.

Q: Have you found a job or planned your career? Are you using the skills you learned at SBIT?
A: Right now, while I'm waiting for my degree, I'm considering working part-time in places like software engineering or hardware stores, maybe selling computers or similar products. After that, my career plan is to either move to Singapore or work in KL, with SBIT or other companies.

Q: Did SBIT's interview training help you prepare for jobs?
A: The interview process taught by SBIT really helped me with job interviews. It gave me experience on how to handle interviews properly, making it easier to land a job.

Q: What makes SBIT unique compared to other schools?
A: What I find interesting and special about SBIT is, like I mentioned earlier, the focus on practical learning. It's much easier for students who prefer hands-on experience. I also like that the courses are broken down into modules, so you're not overwhelmed with everything at once. You learn step by step, at the same pace as everyone else, which I find really nice and effective at SBIT.

Q: Would you recommend SBIT to friends or family?
A: I would definitely recommend SBIT because the course is really fun, and the school has a great atmosphere where students and teachers can easily become friends. I would gladly recommend SBIT to my family or anyone I know who wants to pursue a career in IT.
