REVOLUTIONIZING ELDERCARE: AI-ROBOTICS HEALTHCARE SHOW WOWS VIP GUEST
On Friday 21/02/2025, the inaugural Tagore AI-Robotic Health Care Show made its debut, showcasing cutting-edge innovations designed to empower senior citizens and enhance their quality of life.
The event, held at the 9@Tagore, was graced by Mr Henry Kwek, Member of Parliament & Grassroots Adviser for Kebun Baru, who expressed his enthusiasm for the potential of technology to transform eldercare.
The exhibition featured an impressive array of AI-powered and robotic solutions tailored to support the elderly in their daily lives. One of the standout displays was the all-in-one wheelchair, which integrated bathing, toilet and mobility functions. This innovative device promises to revolutionize the lives of senior citizens, providing them with unparalleled independence and autonomy.
Other notable exhibits included mobility aids designed to assist senior citizens with daily tasks, such as walking, standing and transferring. These devices, equipped with advanced sensors and AI algorithms, can detect and respond to the user's needs, ensuring their safety and comfort.
In his address, Mr Kwek emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to address the challenges of aging. "As our population ages, it is essential that we harness the power of innovation to improve the lives of our senior citizens," he said. "This exhibition showcases the exciting possibilities that AI and robotics can bring to eldercare, and I am committed to supporting initiatives that promote healthy aging and independence."
Mr Kwek is passionate about looking out for Singapore’s seniors as can be seen in the Integrated Dementia (Home-based) Assisted Living (IDeAL@115) project in Kebun Baru which seeks to assist vulnerable and frail seniors, including those with dementia, through coordinated support and monitoring.
The AI-Robotics Health Care Show is a significant step forward in the development of eldercare solutions, demonstrating the potential for technology to enhance the well-being and dignity of senior citizens. As the demand for eldercare services continues to grow, events like this exhibition will play a crucial role in shaping the future of care for our aging population.
