Hyundai Motor Partners With Indonesian EV Charging Firms For Cross-Platform Charging Access

SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's leading automaker, said Tuesday it has partnered with major Indonesian electric vehicle (EV) charging service companies to provide its customers in the Southeast Asian nation with easy cross-platform charging accessibility.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding for the partnership with six local charging companies, which include Dayagreen, Utomo Charge+ and Buzz, on the sidelines of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show on Friday.

Hyundai Motor's EV customers in Indonesia can conveniently use the charging facilities of the affiliated companies via the MyHyundai smartphone app without needing to register separately or set up payment methods.

The South Korean company is the first to introduce a system in Indonesia that allows users to freely use and pay for multiple companies' charging facilities with a single app.

The participating companies operate a total of 429 charging stations with 696 EV chargers in Indonesia, accounting for approximately 97 percent of the country's commercial EV charging infrastructure.

Additionally, Hyundai is launching an EV charging service program that provides new EV customers with free 50kWh charging each month for one year at charging stations affiliated with the partnership.

"We have entered into a business agreement to provide the most convenient charging service for EV customers," a Hyundai official said, adding, "As a leader in Indonesia's electric vehicle market, Hyundai will do its utmost to ensure that customers can easily access our products, services and infrastructure."
